John Mason Long

John Mason Long is a Senior Strategic Advisor with deep experience at the intersection of federal policy, intergovernmental affairs, and political strategy. He advises clients on navigating complex regulatory environments, executive branch dynamics, and federal decision-making, with particular expertise in health policy, stakeholder engagement, and intergovernmental coordination.
Most recently, he served in the Office of Intergovernmental & External Affairs at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, where he coordinated engagement with governors’ offices, state legislatures, and national stakeholder organizations. He advised senior leadership on political and regulatory dynamics shaping federal health policy and supported external affairs across key agencies including CMS, FDA, CDC, NIH, HRSA, SAMHSA, and ASPR.
He also served as Director of Special Projects for the Trump 2024 Campaign in Georgia, coordinating statewide political strategy, coalition building, and stakeholder outreach.
Earlier in his career, Long held senior roles in political strategy and advocacy across the Southeast, directing coalition development, stakeholder engagement, and major public policy initiatives in close collaboration with governors’ offices, state legislatures, national associations, and Fortune 500 leaders.
Long is recognized for his ability to navigate intricate policy landscapes, build strong relationships across federal agencies, state governments, and national organizations, and deliver results-driven strategies for effective policymaker engagement.
