Sharonda Wright-Placide

In 2019, Sharonda joined Rubin, Turnbull & Associates as a governmental consultant after spending 14 years in legislative staff positions in both the Florida House and Senate. Based in the Fort Lauderdale office, she supports and coordinates the firm’s local government relations and community engagement activities on behalf of its clients, becoming the Director of Community Engagement in 2022. In this role, she builds strategic partnerships between clients and communities, ensuring alignment with community needs.

During her long tenure in the State Legislature, Wright-Placide served as a legislative aide to several representatives and senators from the Broward and Palm Beach county delegations, including Minority Leaders in both the Senate and House. Her role included legislative work, local projects, and community outreach. She worked on a wide range of issues, including gun reform, the Stand Your Ground law, police body cameras, criminal justice reform, and affordable housing.

Sharonda’s volunteer efforts include assisting nonprofits in accessing government resources and fostering community relationships. She is an active member of the National Black Professional Lobbyist Association and serves on several local nonprofit boards and committees focused on preserving the arts, helping abused and neglected children find loving homes, and providing exposure and opportunities to disadvantaged youth.

Her achievements have been recognized by awards like the Florida Sheriff’s Association’s Legislative Staffer of the Year (2015), Legacy Magazine’s 40 Under 40 (2018), ICABA Global Network BPM Global 100 Leading Black Professionals (2024), News Service of Florida Impact Award (2024), and YMCA Exemplary Community Youth Impact Award (2025). She formerly chaired the civic engagement committee for the Urban League of Broward County Young Professionals Network.

She received her bachelor’s degree in business management and organizational leadership from St. Petersburg College.
